Yearly trip to the pumpkin patch

Every year I take Ellie and now Noah to the pumpkin patch. This year Ellie's school has one that we all spent the afternoon working at. I take pictures every year and this time it was so much fun because some of Ellie's classmates were there too with us.

Noah is now getting into the fun of the holiday with his pumpkin hat. My Aunt Jeanine made this hat for Ellie and I have loved it for every fall. Now Noah wears it, althougth Ellie can still fit into it so they both share. She also has a strawberry one too that he will not wear. (According to Ellie, its hers only)

Fall School Fun

Ellie has been making all kinds of fun things this month at school being fall here in Florida and Halloween just around the corner. One week they learned all about the apple and made apple crowns. Ellie was not in the mood to have her pictures taken that day but mom still had to capture the moment... This past week they have been doing things for Halloween and talking about spiders... They made this Spider hat and Ellie was in the mood to strut her stuff with the hat on for mama...

Solid Foods

Well on Sunday we tried solids with Noah. Not too sure about it but after contemplating the thought of having more to eat went ahead and tried it without spitting it all out.
Doesnt taste like the Darby Queen blizzards I have been getting but it has potential...

Hmm....this may not be a bad thing...I will keep you posted (Noah out!)

My two little pickles

Well, for those who know me having Ellie was new to me in the beginning but I got the hang of it and loved having a girl to snuggle with, dress up and dote on.. I was pretty free to go anywhere with ellie because she loved the carseat, stroller and going new places. All in all I loved having a girl.

When number two came along, adjusting has been a whole new world.. First of all, you have to majorly watch out for flying pee pee when changing diapers and somehow the gas expulsion is nothing like Ellie had when she was young... Dont get me wrong I love my little "power pooper" as we have affectionately started calling him because no matter what the situation is I get pooped on or he fills his drawers to cover the outfit of the day. Needless to say the laundry is once a week at a minimum. We laugh (Andy more than me) and say its all in what the Darby Queen eats and fills his blizzard with. Somehow I dont love the Dairy Queen reference as much as Andy does but what can you do.

He is also not a fan of the carseat or stroller.. Seeing how at 4 months he is 18 pounds, carrying him for a long time tends to wear out the arms. (Althougth I am getting some really good biceps these days). We have proceeded to the second carseat since growing out of the infant one and that is helping some, but the true test will be our first major road trip the weekend before Halloween. Will keep you posted.

All this ranting to say its a new adventure having two (girl and a boy) but they fill my days with lots of adventure. Ellie loves her brother and helping me take care of him. She especially likes to know that we are taking Noah with us when we go out.. She always asks "Mama, can we take Noah?" Of course I wouldnt leave him at home, but it reassures her to know he gets to come...

All this to say, when I have moments like these shots, its all the fun I will ever need having 2 pickles named Ellie and Noah..

Open House

Its amazing what you learn about your kids from Open House. We got a chance to go to our first one for Ellie's pre-school class. Its no surprise to anyone that she is outgoing and very polite, but we had to chuckle when Mrs Moran called Ellie her special helper that never lets her forget things. The open house was an opportunity for us parents to get to see what they do each day. Ellie was always shouting out the answers and raising her hands when Mrs Moran called for answers. So much so, that we all got tickled at her eagerness in the classroom and quickly saw that she was always ready with answers for the teacher whether she wanted them or not.. These are Ellies teachers Mrs Baliff on the left and Mrs Moran on the right. Ellie is also showing us her cubbie where she stores her backpack and the table she sits at....She is a yellow triangle. I think we are in for alot of fun over the years with Ellie enjoying school, at least till the homework piles on....

The sickness continues....of course

Of course, its just par for the course to have Ellie get sick.. What would normal life be like without both my kids getting sick.. Thankfully Ellie was not as bad as Noah but she did have to start with the nebulizer treatments just like Noah... I just had to laugh at how ironic it is. Just when I think the "oogie boogies" are gone from my house, Ellie comes to me and says "Mamma I think the "Oogie Boogies" got me now" So here we are on our 3rd week of sickness with Ellie doing the treatments now as well...
Sleep will come to me someday....right.

sickness among us

Well after a full week of hacking I took our newest little one to the doctor to find out he has bronchiolitis...All that to say he is one very sick little man. Here is the pictures to prove it.. He has to be on a nebulizer of albuterol for awhile and as you can see he loves it.

Its the most enjoyable 3 minutes of each day to hear him scream at me (3 to 4 times a day mind you) while we try to get this medicine in him. We have tried everything from singing, talking, dancing and Ellie even gets into the mix to help him get through the treatments.. So we just have to hold him and comfort through the crying.

As you can see here, Mer and I are trying to give him the treatment while he looks at Daddy and John like "Please get me out of this"

One of the struggles of raising kids, giving them meds when they dont want it... Oh well, only 5 more weeks to go of flem...YIPPEE

Hopefully Ellie stays healthy

Labor Day Weekend in Texas

We spent a wonderful time in Texas for Labor day with Nana and Pops.

Here are a few shots, mostly in the pool because that is where we spent most of our time...

Ellie's First Day of School

Check out my little pickle..she is off to her first day of pre-school. Ellie started school on Aug 8th for the first time... We walked to class and Ellie says to me, "Mama, you can go now!" Needless to say mama was heartbroken, but her little social butterfly was off and running...
